Charitable Remainder Trust: Provides income to the donor (or beneficiaries) for life or a term of years, with the remainder going to Talisman Therapeutic Riding. It offers an immediate partial deduction and capital gains deferral.
Charitable Lead Trust: Provides income to Talisman for a set period, with the remainder passing to heirs, potentially reducing estate and gift taxes.
Wills and Living Trusts: Donors can designate Talisman as a beneficiary of cash, securities, or real estate.
Retirement Plan Beneficiary Designations: Naming Talisman as a beneficiary of an IRA or 401(k) avoids income tax on distributions while reducing estate tax liability.
Life Insurance Gifts: Donors can name Talisman as a beneficiary or transfer ownership of a policy.
Specific: A specific bequest involves making a gift of financial assets such as cash, stocks or bonds, real estate or other assets to Talisman Therapeutic Riding.
Residual: A residual bequest is made from the balance of an estate after all specific gifts have been dispersed. For example, a percentage, a specific amount, or the remainder of the estate may be designated for Talisman Therapeutic Riding after other obligations have been fulfilled.
Percentage: Another kind of bequest involves leaving a specified percentage of your overall estate to charity. For example, you may wish to leave 10% of your estate to Talisman Therapeutic Riding.
Contingent: A contingent bequest is made only if the purpose of the primary bequest cannot be met. For example, you could leave real property, such as a vacation home, to a relative, but the contingent bequest language would state that if the relative is not alive at the time of your death, the property will go to Talisman Therapeutic Riding.
Talisman Therapeutic Riding is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Tax ID: 45-4204697.
