Silver Saddles Program
Talisman Silver Saddle sessions are designed to provide seniors (65+ years old) with unique and enriching equine experiences through interactions with horses, with or without the need for riding. This program focuses on personal growth, emotional well-being, and social connection using the gentle and intuitive nature of horses to foster learning and self-discovery.
Chesapeake Forum Horse Discovery Courses and Field Trips
In partnership with the Chesapeake Forum, courses allow participants to connect, or reconnect, with horses in a professional and peaceful environment. Classes focus on the amazing superpowers of horses and growing horsemanship knowledge and practice. These progressive sessions build understanding of equine fundamentals, including horse safety, horse anatomy, grooming tools and techniques, leading, and horse behavior. Practical exercises develop the necessary skills to expand horsemanship to mounted experiences, learning about tack and equipment, tacking techniques, mounting, and dismounting, riding aids, and the basics of walking, stopping, and steering.
Program cost: Courses are scheduled and paid through Chesapeake Forum
